Cold ones during the Cold war

So I was watching a documentary earlier today - 1983: The Brink of Apocalypse. About how the Cold War came so very close to becoming World War III due to tension between the USA and the USSR and each refusing to back down their nuclear arms. (Turns out there was a Behind the Scenes Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one show on another channel, so I switched stations and I'm not sure what happened in the end of 1983... ;P)

But what I was wondering is what would be the repercussions for the Volturi and other vampires if a nuclear war did begin.

Also, would you think Aro would sit back and watch things unfold. Or would he try get in there somehow. Influence certain people, certain aspects. If so, which way do you think he'd go - for or against the bomb?

I'm not saying its not silly, but thats the canon. The even crack like stone when they take a thrashing - and I know thats just seen in NM film, but the director asked meyer if that would work like that and she said yes. I mean they sparkle like marble in sun. They aren't supposed to assimilate into human society so good. It's basically only the Cullens who try.

Yes, meyer said that, but I was talking about if in the advent of nuclear war and vamps turn cannibal. There would be no blood in the older vamps.

Oh, sorry. Misunderstanding there. I am writing my own novel. Nothing at all to do with twilight or even vampires. It's set during the second world war and that's what is hand written.

What I mean is vampires aren't made to assimilate.

But you go and teach. :) I've not yet seen the Jane Eyre trailer. I'm still very much in love with the last adaptaion of it over here with Toby Stephens as Rochester <3 <3 <3

We really are going around on a tangent here lol. Meyer doesn't do vampires as they have been done before. The sparkle, the stone, thats her canon. To compare to other vamps in other series isn't much use because twilight is supposed to be far from the norm of vampirism.
I agree it is stupid and doesn't really work when you really think about it, but the fact remains thats still how its suppose to work in the twi series. And you know how weird I am about trying to fit things around to make sense, yet keeping them in with a grounding in the canon we are given.
It's annoying, I know lol.

I just saw the trailer, really shitty trailer, very jumpy. Not impressed but luckily I don't think it's the official one.
And I think Mia is far to pretty for a 'plain' Jane.
My Jane and Rochester will always be

I stand by what I said. That isn't to say she can't pull it off character wise. But its just not believable that she's playing a plain Jane. She is far to beautiful.
It's like this new Johnny Depp trailer I saw: The Tourist. As much as I admire and adore Johnny's acting ability, it seemed off to me that he was surprised to have the attention of a stunning woman like Angie Jolie.

when she played a serial killer in monster, she was hardly the glamorous beauty she usually is
Prosthetics were used for that role.

This is actually a bad topic to get me into cos I get so very depressed, lol. I'm not ugly but I am very plain and there is no amount of nice clothes that can make me look any better. I've had braces, laser eye, diets, this, that and the other. I never look anyway different. You're plain, you're plain. Get used to it.

I do get all that, but I don't really agree.

Yes, yes they do, well I think so. I was out by The Edges house in Malahide during the summer (there is a small beach that lies behind it. Not well know and not private so it's actually a lovely place to go to watch the waves).
But pub trawl on your own my dear, I'm am in the minority of Irish people who do not drink at all. And not because of pass addictions to the stuff. I just don't like the taste nor the stupidity that comes with being pissed.

but we can always sit in coffee shops and be pretentious and see who we attract...
Why, yes, I do believe I would like that best, lol. But then again people annoy me. I don't want to attract anyone. I'm happy just to watch them go by and imagine little stories about them.

And Karaoke is fun. :)
