Cold ones during the Cold war

So I was watching a documentary earlier today - 1983: The Brink of Apocalypse. About how the Cold War came so very close to becoming World War III due to tension between the USA and the USSR and each refusing to back down their nuclear arms. (Turns out there was a Behind the Scenes Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one show on another channel, so I switched stations and I'm not sure what happened in the end of 1983... ;P)

But what I was wondering is what would be the repercussions for the Volturi and other vampires if a nuclear war did begin.

Also, would you think Aro would sit back and watch things unfold. Or would he try get in there somehow. Influence certain people, certain aspects. If so, which way do you think he'd go - for or against the bomb?

Current Music: Dance Dance ~ Fall Out Boy (its on shuffle, people)

Honestly by that stage they were like 3000 years old. They probably relished something different. Mix things up, it's not the same old, same old anymore. I see Aro being very curious indeed about all the new happenings.

Yes you're right. In Edwards version of Twilight (Forever Dawn, is it?) he compares his life in high school as a sort of purgatory. And goes on and on about how draining it is to sit there day after day listening to the trivial crap of his fellow students. They just see it as a necessary evil to enable them to stay in a place longer. Personal I would go mad and probably just start killing of students just for something to do.
It's a silly concept and Anne Rice was right when she said why would immortals stay constantly in High School when they could be off exploring Paris or Rome.

Aww, no, lol. You should have stuck with it.

No I've not yet read it, but love the idea. I sometimes really believe that we are just an experiment.
Some big grand design for us is just to make us sleep easier at night.

Usually I don't have a doubt in my mind about an after life and all that jazz, but lately...I don't know. I think I'm just tired of being looked down on and feeling like a moron for being Catholic. The majority of my friends are atheists and I really don't care because I am firmly set in my idea that there is a God. But I'm being a bit paranoid lately what with doing nothing with my life and I'm beginning to think that my friends consider me unintelligent for believing such tripe.
It's all very up in the air right now and depending on my moods. It's a bad week this week.

I don't mean the fact that I'm Catholic. Just the fact that I believe in God. They probably don't even think this but it feels like they look down at me and think 'so silly, this day and age'

And you really should come here :) We'd have a blast as I showed you around Dublin and all our pretty priests :P
